$20

This holiday season, the Knox Memorial is proud to present an all-new version of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale, A Christmas Carol. Performances will run at the Knox Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon, Ohio, November 29, 30, and December 1. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and a special 1 p.m. matinee on Sunday will allow patrons plenty of time to make their way to the Mount Vernon Downtown Square to watch the Experience Mount Vernon Annual Holiday Parade at 3:45 p.m.

The Knox Memorial is once again partnering with the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium to produce the holiday show. Habitat for Humanity Knox County will be providing set construction support, as well as concessions during the performances.  Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Habitat’s mission and how they can get involved. Together, all three organizations are committed to celebrating the arts while also giving back to their community.

A Christmas Carol is a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. It reminds us of the importance of kindness and generosity during the holiday season,” said director and Arts Consortium Production Manager Ian Fraser Ernsberger. “We are thrilled to bring this classic tale to life in our beautiful theater, and we invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable experience.”

Based on the classic novella by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly, cold-hearted man who despises Christmas and all its cheer. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, and three spirits representing Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Through these supernatural encounters, Scrooge reflects on his life, learns about the consequences of his greed, and ultimately transforms into a kinder, more generous person. The tale emphasizes themes of redemption, compassion, and the Christmas spirit.

A Christmas Carol stars Aaron Moreland as Ebenezer Scrooge, Tony Montgomery as Bob Cratchit, Bruce Jacklin as Jacob Marley, Jillian Snow as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Buck Thompson as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Steve Jefferson as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, and Mike Andrews as Fred. Caroline Pletcher, Rosie Stemen, Simon Ryals, Sadie Ryals, Scarlett Montgomery, and Oliver Snow portray members of the Cratchit Family. The cast also includes Trey Swallow, Luna Moreland, Abigail Tayse, Kate Ernsberger, Joshua Hill, Lindsay Andrews, Beth Ann Bergamesca, Josh Callahan-Foley, Nate Hoam, Jared Pierce, Evangeline Lawrence, Elisa Lybarger, and Briggs Swallow in supporting roles, with additional performances from Adrian Andrews, Cora Andrews, Ellie Andrews, Gavin Andrews, Lanah Andrews, Will Andrews, Peyton Hauenstein-Cline, Alyssa Gómez Lawrence, and Allison Smith.
