NPD IS ASKING FOR HELP
Newark police is asking for help in locating an 18-year-old man wanted in connection with an alleged sexual assault. Chandler Green has been charged with rape. Police believe Green is somewhere in Central Ohio, and might be traveling in a red Chevrolet pick-up truck and/or a silver Honda bearing Ohio registration “KIR2820”. If you have any information on his whereabouts contact your local law enforcement agency.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY
The snow will start to fall across central Ohio this afternoon.
Steven Hrebenach with the National Weather Service said a Winter Weather Advisory runs from 1:00 p.m. today until 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
SNOW EMERGENCIES
Perry County remains under a Level 1 Snow Emergency. The Licking County Emergency Warming Center will open today at 5:30 p.m. It will remain open until 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
COLUMBUS MAN SENTENCED
A 42-year-old Columbus man was recently sentenced in the 2023 shooting death of a 58-year-old Newark man. Richard Kreager entered a guilty to plea to several charges including involuntary manslaughter in the death of Todd Weiland at a home on Jacksontown Road. Kreager was sentenced to 14-19 ½ years in prison.
VANCE RESIGNS
Vice President-Elect JD Vance resigned from his seat in the U.S. Senate early this morning. Vance served two years of his six-year Senate term. Governor DeWine, will choose his successor. His replacement will fill the seat until a special election is held in 2026. The winner of the special election would serve the remaining two years of Vance's term.

COTTON BOWL
Ohio State and Texas meet tonight in the Cotton Bowl. The winner will face Notre Dame in the National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 20 in Atlanta. The Irish beat Penn State 27-24 in the Orange Bowl. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
