PAWS of Muskingum County is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Festival of PAWS, a fun-filled community event designed for all ages. In addition to a timed 5K race and a 1-mile fun run/walk, the festival will include a wide variety of pet-related vendors—including Pet FBI offering free microchipping—alongside a variety of vendors, face painting, food trucks, and more. With something for everyone, from animal lovers and families to casual walkers and competitive runners, Festival of PAWS promises a full day of fun, shopping, and community spirit.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Ohio University Zanesville/Zane State Campus. All proceeds will benefit the creation of a future spay and neuter clinic serving Muskingum County and Southeastern Ohio. Race Highlights: ● 5K Run: $25 pre-registration; $30 on race day ● 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: $10 per individual, $20 per family (3 or more) ● Location: Rogge Pavilion behind OUZ/Zane State, 1555 Newark Rd, Zanesville, OH ● Race Start Time: 12:00 PM (registration and packet pickup open at 11:00 AM) ● Course: Collegial Woods jogging trail Register by April 18 to guarantee a commemorative race T-shirt (5K only). All 5K finishers will receive medals, and top runners in multiple age groups will receive awards. 1-mile fun run/walk participants will receive a participation medal. From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, visitors can explore vendors, grab lunch or a snack from on-site food trucks, and browse goodies for dogs and pet lovers alike. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout the day—bring them in costume, in a stroller, or by your side for the fun run!
