C-TEC Adult Education Center Launches New Advanced CNC Machining and Robotics Integration Program
Newark, OH- With a long history of working with local manufacturers to offer industry-aligned training programs, C-TEC’s Adult Education Center recently convened a robotics and automation committee to address the technological shift in manufacturing. The committee, made up of major area manufacturing partners includes, Owens Corning, THK Manufacturing of America, and LBrands. These industry experts determined new curriculum and equipment needs for C-TEC to expand its manufacturing training offerings. As a result, C-TEC launched a new Advanced CNC Machining and Robotics Integration Program in October.
This new program prepares adult learners for high-demand employment opportunities within the manufacturing industry. These opportunities include CNC machining, robotics, and automation. Adults train in a state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Lab that includes a Fanuc LR 200 Robot work cell, Haas and Fanuc CNC machine tools, and an updated manufacturing programming lab.
In addition to the new program, C-TEC’s Multicraft Industrial Maintenance Program has been updated to now include an enhanced focus on robotics and industrial electrical motor controls. It also includes expanded training in Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs).
C-TEC instructors have dedicated time to training in these new advanced areas, achieving instructor certification in Fanuc Robotics, Yaskawa Robotics, Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc Ri Vision, Fanuc CNC, MSSC Green Manufacturing, MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT+), and MSSC Certified Logistics Associate and Technician training.
The new 120 hour Robotics and Automation course offers national industry certification in Fanuc Handling Pro and is available as part of the full-time, 900-hour training program, but also as a stand-alone course for certification. Therefore, adult learners have the option to take the full program or just the course, and employers can slot in employees for this short-term course to up-skill or re-skill an employee in a particular skill area.
The program is currently open for enrollment, with start dates January 11th, 2021, June 9th, 2021, and August 2nd, 2021. More information can be found at:
