PRIVATE FIRST CLASS CHRISTIAN D. GURTNER, 19, of Ohio City, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in Iraq. He was Active Military in The United States Marines serving in Iraq. He graduated Van Wert High School in 2002. He was born June 23, 1983 in Dallas, Texas. Surviving are his parents, Gary Wagonrod and Eldonna (Gurtner) Wagonrod; one infant daughter; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Wagonrod of Van Wert; Maternal grandmother, Sally Gurtner of Fremont; sisters Tammy (Patrick) Williamson of Lyons Michigan, Angie (Rob) Curtis of Belle Center, Ohio, Amy (Tom) Limbean of Riverton, Utah; His Little Sweetheart, Alicia Sterling; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Eldon Gurtner and Richard Wagonrod, Sr.; uncles, LynDon Gurtner and Earl Gurtner. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. Services 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio with military graveside services by Det 1 Communications Company, Peru, Indiana.
