Licking County Coalition for Housing (LCCH) has begun taking appointments for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for individual taxpayers in Licking County.
The free tax preparation services will be available from February 1 through April 15, 2021. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program uses IRS-certified volunteers to prepare and e-file federal, state and school district tax returns for income-eligible citizens, at no cost to them.
Taxes are prepared at 3 locations in Licking County.
Drop-off appointments are available at:
The LCCH offices at 23 South Park Place and
Ohio Means Jobs at 998 East Main St.
In-person appointments are available at:
The Licking County Library (Main) at 101 West Main St.
The days/hours vary by location. No walk-ins at any site, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Most taxpayers with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $57,000 or less are eligible. Farm income, rental income and some advanced tax issues cannot be handled at a VITA site. Photo ID and Social Security cards are required from all taxpayers, as well as W-2s and other tax documents. Both taxpayers must sign for a joint return.
LCCH’s VITA program is celebrating 15 years serving Licking County, and is supported by grants from State Farm, the Internal Revenue Service in partnership with United Way of Central Ohio, and a dedicated team of IRS-trained volunteers.
