official opening of the 2021 season and a celebration of spring

May 1 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join the Licking County Historical Society for the official opening of the
2021 season and a celebration of spring. The Society will host "Come Grow With Us" at all LCHS
sites on Saturday, May 1 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be
served in the Buckingham House yard. This event is free and all are invited
to see what the Society has in store for 2021.

The Sherwood-Davidson House (31 North Sixth Street, Newark) will debut a new
exhibit, "The Language of Flowers." Learn more about the secretive code made
popular by courting couples in Victorian England and see items from our
collection arrayed with florals (and try and interpret their meaning!).
After touring the Sherwood-Davidson House, visit the Buckingham Meeting
House (5 North Six Street) which will house the Society's Clarence H. White
collection, recently returned from exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art.

At the Webb House (303 Granville Street, Newark), tour the charming gardens
and discover what is in store for summer programming, then take a tour of
the house which will feature an exhibit of local artists, including an
exhibit of never-before-displayed original Clyde Daily paintings.

Please note: the Society will adhere to current COVID-19 guidelines. Masks
are required when inside all historic buildings and social distancing is
heavily encouraged.
